About EVTV

EVTV Miami is a Venezuelan television channel founded in exile with the mission to deliver accurate, timely and independent information to the Venezuelan community abroad and to everyone interested in the realities of Venezuela and Latin America.

Our mission

From our studios in Miami, Florida, we broadcast 24 hours a day across cable television, digital platforms and live streaming, reaching millions of Venezuelans in more than 50 countries. Our mission is to be the free voice of Venezuela from exile, denouncing human rights violations, corruption and the absence of democratic freedoms in the country.

History

EVTV was founded in 2009 by a group of Venezuelan journalists and entrepreneurs who sought to keep the flame of free journalism alive in a Venezuela where independent media outlets were being silenced one by one by the regime. Since then, EVTV has become the reference point for the Venezuelan diaspora around the world.

Over the years, EVTV has covered the most pivotal moments in Venezuelan history: the 2014 and 2017 protests, the fraudulent elections, the humanitarian crisis, the mass migration and the rise of the democratic opposition.

Our team

We have a team of more than 80 professionals — journalists, camera operators, editors, producers and technical staff — committed to the highest standards of ethical and independent journalism. Our correspondents are present in Venezuela, the United States, Spain, Colombia, Chile, Peru and other countries with large Venezuelan communities.

Awards and recognition

EVTV has been recognized by multiple press freedom organizations — including Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) — for its work defending free journalism and covering the Venezuelan crisis.

Editorial transparency

EVTV operates with full editorial independence. It receives no funding from governments or political parties. Our revenue comes from advertising, subscriptions and the support of the Venezuelan community. We strictly enforce the separation between our editorial line and commercial interests.
